Criticism and Leader’s Reaction
Coach Quinn faced criticism as numerous felt the rookie ought not to have been on the field in the first place. The injury happened in the fourth quarter with the Washington behind 38-7, making a recovery improbable. It is typical in such situations for clubs to insert their reserve QB to prevent injuries to their first-string player.
“I understand. I’ve been reflecting about it constantly, too, and, wow, I missed it,” he said of his decision to leave Daniels in the match. “That is 100% on me.”
Aftermath and Team Outlook
Marcus Mariota will be the team’s starting quarterback from now on, but he will guide a team in disarray. Following making the NFC championship game last season thanks to the rookie’s brilliance, the franchise have struggled currently. They also lost cornerback Lattimore (torn ACL) and pass-catcher Luke McCaffrey (collarbone fracture) on game day, and have a host of other key players on the injury list. The Washington squad are 3-6 so far, and it would require a massive turnaround for the team to reach the playoffs.
